Sewer mapping
WRc’s sewer mapping capability offers asset owners the ability to develop an inferred sewer and drainage network for areas where the existing mapped sewer records are incomplete. It combines aerial-image-derived drainage features, existing sewer asset data, OS mapping, property information and engineering expertise to create a more complete, connected and reviewable representation of foul, surface and combined drainage.
A series of automated and semi-automated routines are used to infer missing network sections and link visible drainage features such as soil pipes, rainwater downpipes, gullies and manholes to the existing sewer network. This aims to create a practical GIS-based view of how drainage is likely to operate for specific building types and ages, supporting operational decisions, asset understanding and future drainage investigation, and improving OFWAT sewer length reporting.
Asset location intelligence
Asset location intelligence combines GIS technology, asset databases and operational information to provide a comprehensive spatial understanding of infrastructure assets. This capability enables organisations to identify asset risks, understand network dependencies, prioritise investment and improve incident response.
By providing a single geospatial view of critical assets and their relationships, we apply asset location intelligence and advanced surveying technologies to map, inspect and manage critical buried infrastructure such as water pipelines and sewers.
