Monitoring Certification Scheme
The Monitoring Certification Scheme (MCERTS), set up by the UK Environment Agency, provides a framework to ensure environmental measurements are made to the agency’s quality requirements. MCERTS certification considers several international standards associated with emissions monitoring, water monitoring, etc.

As the first contractor to produce the MCERTS continuous water monitoring standards and test procedures, we have an intimate knowledge of the Environment Agency’s requirements. Early product testing
Early product testing
WRc can help manufacturers achieve certification for new developments. This includes supporting the design and development process to ensure the requirements of the MCERTS product standards are understood throughout and will be met by the finished product.
We can also advise on testing that may be carried out during development and can independently QA or audit those tests so that they might be considered as evidence contributing to certification.
Field testing
Field testing
We offer a range of services to assist with field testing, an essential part of the MCERTS certification process. This includes setting up and conducting tests, independent QA of tests and results or conducting tests on a third-party site.

For equipment that is already established on the market, WRc can:
review the available evidence with respect to its submission in support of MCERTS certification
independently audit evidence in support of MCERTS certification
advise on any gaps where further evidence is required
identify and complete specific testing to fill gaps.
